Welcome to ManBearPighaven: the lovely new home that your carbon taxes bought

Al Gore has bought a new house. Another new house. (Hat tip: Mark Verschuren)

Reports the LA Times:

Former Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, have added a Montecito-area property to their real estate holdings, reports the Montecito Journal.

The couple spent $8,875,000 on an ocean-view villa on 1.5 acres with a swimming pool, spa and fountains, a real estate source familiar with the deal confirms. The Italian-style house has six fireplaces, five bedrooms and nine bathrooms.

This website here claims to offer an exclusive photo gallery of the new ManBearPig residence. I cannot vouch for the photos’ authenticity. One of the commenters below claims the Gores have bought a different house higher up the hill. Anyway, I think we can safely assume that whichever interiors the Gores have bought for themselves are no less San Simeon-esque.

Enjoy! Remember, you helped Gore on the way to becoming a billionaire through the carbon trading system in which he owns a major shareholding. So I’m sure he and Tipper wouldn’t mind if you popped for a weekend stay or two whenever you’re in the Montecito area.
