The Arizona shootings were like Kwanzaa come early for America's liberal fascists

How sick do you have to be to start making political capital out of the killing of six people including a nine-year old girl, long before anyone has the remotest clue what the murderer’s motives were, or his political affiliations, or his state of mind?

Not sick at all, to judge by the response of so many US Tweeters in the immediate aftermath of the Arizona shootings.

  1. The liberal attitude to such events could not be better exemplified than by Obama’s many references to the “tragedy”.

Isn’t this an atrocity rather than a tragedy?

Amongst the many gems in today’s Guardian:

    – James Clyburn, one of the Democratic leaders in the House, calledtoday for political rhetoric to be toned down. “We’re living in a time that all of us should begin to take stock of how our words affect people, especially those who aren’t very stable.”

Is this the same James Clyburn who first came to my attention with this classic some years back?

Definitely the voice of reason on a day like this.

  2. Sarah Nutcase Palin was promoting her death you fool. She put crosshairs on the woman.

Liberals are ANTI GUN in case you didn’t notice.

Beck, Palin, Coulter, Limbaugh, Savage and a host of other clowns have been high on violence promoting rhetoric.

I’m sorry that you don’t get Murdoch’s Republican bias promotion scheme called “Fox News” in the UK. Pure hate and negativity 24/7.

  3. It was a POLITICAL killing you dimwad. It doesn’t matter what his motives were. The atmosphere from the Republicans is toxic and violent – encouraging fools like the Tea Party goons to walk around with guns.

Stay out of US politics. The Tea Party is funded by the oil industry – it has nothing to do with popularist change. I’ve been to their “meetings”. It’s all about feeding the gullible lies and conspiracy theories. Half the tea partiers benefit from socialism because many are either on Social Security or are ex-military and are on the TriCare health system which other mortals cannot get. The ex-militay can be treated free at military hospitals and get tax free gas and cheap food.

You don’t know squat about the US.

  5. Mary Rose Wilcox, a member of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors in Arizona, was sitting in her car on Saturday when her husband called her back into their restaurant. Inside, he pointed to the television, where news stations were reporting that Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) and 20 others had been shot in what police are now calling an assassination attempt.

Wilcox said she was devastated. She also said she was frightened: Wilcox herself was shot in 1997, while walking out of a board meeting, by a man who later said he was angry at her support for a baseball stadium tax. The first Hispanic woman elected to the board, Wilcox, a Democrat, had been the target of talk-radio tirades telling Maricopa County residents to “take her out.”

“I knew at the time that the hate had been caused by a lot of the rhetoric that had gone on,” Wilcox told HuffPost. “At the trial, the man actually said, ‘I shot her because the radio said I should take her out.'”

  6. Socialism is state-imposed plunder and slavery: it is inherently violent.
And those who protest peacefully against its plunder and slavery haven’t even started exercising their natural rights of self-defense against the Socialist looters and slave-drivers.

While the Socialist goons attack their innocent victims and project their aggressive instincts on them, as illustrated by the fact that the shooter was just another Socialist loon, and his fellow Socialist loons accused normal people of having inspired his act of Socialist violence..

  7. Chris P, then how do you explain the DEMOCRATIC BULLSEYE MAP from 2004, several years before Palin was on the national map, or before there was a Tea Party?

Or how about Marlos Moulitsas himself, that sweet voice of peaceful reason, putting out a list of Blue Dogs in 2008, LISTING GIFFORDS BY NAME, as someone with a “BULLSEYE” on her district for primarying?

Again, before there was a Tea Party, and the year Palin first arrived on stage?

Of course, Kos deep-sixed much of the hate on his own blog, particularly this:

because it doesn’t fit the narrative that rightwingers are the sole purveyors of hate.

What we may be seeing over here is the Alinsky playbook developed when Obama was elected, to be run if anyone ever tried to harm the President.

Interesting here too, that last November, a Dem strategist said Obama “needs” and Oklahoma City to reconnect with voter, as Clinton did in 1994, after…a disastrous midterm election which cost him his Dem congress:

and lo and behold, what is in this week’s Newsweek online, post-shooting?

including the following, in para 2:

“Just as Bill Clinton’s response to the 1995 Oklahoma City bombings helped him recover from his defeat in the 1994 midterms, so this episode may help Obama change—at least in the short term–the trajectory of American politics.”

Why don’t you pass the time by playing a little solitaire Chris?

Mr. D, there’s a lot more out ther. Welcome to Alinskyland.

  8. Sorry for the typos in previous–I’m just astonished (not really) that someone would take the trouble to go to the UK to promote the chosen narrative, and with little but unsourced blog quotes.

Anything to stop a healthcare repeal, stop defunding or reining in the agencies, force through a fairness doctrine and restrictions on speech (if we outlaw bad language, there will be no thought crime?), get control of the internet, and so on.

  9. “Socialist goons” don’t carry guns. Libertarian and Right Wing nutcases do.

You are a slave to big business and you don’t even know it.

  10. “‘Socialist goons’ don’t carry guns???!!!???” Are you effing kidding me? What do you think Stalin’s NKVD were armed with – powder puffs? Read some history, you ignoramus.

  11. Hope my comment comes out of moderation soon.

You are being trolled by a good little apparatchik, no doubt because articles have appeared in the UK showing the fallacy of Pin the Nut on the Palin/Tea Party being played so desperately by the ideology that just got trounced at the polls.

  12. @Chris P

I don’t consider myself to be leftist or rightist, but for the past two decades it is the LEFT that has done precious little but spew out hatred towards those who might disagree with their views.

Show some concern about excessive immigration and the Left calls you a racist.

Show some concern about the way that men are treated in the family courts and the Left calls you a misogynist.

Suggest politely that IQ has something to do with genes, and the Left calls you a Nazi.

    On and on it goes.

    Why do they do this?

Because they have no legitimate facts and no arguments to support their ideology.

So they just lie and try to intimidate people.

The way I see it, the Left is nowadays mostly led by some very nasty people, and its most ardent followers are mostly ignorant emptyheads – such as yourself.

Fortunately, and thanks to the internet, you and your LIBTARD ilk are now well and truly FU***KED.

    You moron.

  13. @Chris P

As for this ridiculous statement of yours, …

“It was a POLITICAL killing you dimwad. It doesn’t matter what his motives were. ”

… I can assure you that even a very average 14 year old could understand that the motives behind an action determine whether or not an action was ‘political’ or not.

    Goodness, you’re stupid.

  14. Yes so freaking stupid to know that the woman was a freaking politician.

You people are in denial. Crazy gun loving violent fools.

You imply that Liberals “hate” the right and conflate that to mean that they promote violence like Beck Coulter and all the other stupid twits on the right.

You say liberals are “socialist” and then conflate that with Hitler or Stalin.

I’m “Fuck’d”. What by a bunch of clueless fools who cannot do anything right. WHo are clueless about science and the environment.

Sorry – go pray to your stupid non-existent god.

Well, it’s good to see that right don’t have anyone who spews out hatred to those who disagree with their views.

I think it’s fair to say that the right wing are probably more pro-gun than the left. It’s been the right who let the ban on assault weapons slide and who voted for the extended magazines that allowed a lunatic to spray bullets into a crowd.

While I don’t like guns myself, I realise that there are people who are passionate about their right to bear arms. But they sound like an alcholic who says “red wine is good for you” as they systematically destroy their liver.
